Partnership visa is one of the most common visas that is needed when one like to travel to a country to live with his or her partner. Many people need to apply for this visa, but they hardly know the process of doing this visa. If you are interested to know about the partner visa of Australia, this writing may help you to get basic knowledge about the Partner Visa Australia.
First of all, let me tell you who are eligible for the visa or who are those people who need this visa to serve their purposes. To be qualified for a partnership visa, you must be married to, or in a De facto relationship, with a citizen or permanent resident of Australia. To apply for the Partner Visa based on marriage, you must be legitimately married to an Australian citizen. In case of applying from outside Australia, you should be legitimately married to your partner, or intend to marry at the time of application of the temporary partner visa. Moreover, same sex relationships or interdependent can also be qualified. Your partner must have to support you for a period of two years in the case of partnership visa Australia. After this period, you may apply for permanent residence if you will still have the relationship with your partner. In this case, you may be asked for to provide proof of legal marriage and evidence of mutual relationships. You may have also met the health and character requirements during this visa processing.
There are two types of partner visas. Those are temporary partner visa and permanent partner visa. They are described below:
Temporary partner visa helps spouse or De facto partner of an Australian native, Australian perpetual inhabitant or qualified New Zealand resident lives in Australia temporarily. It helps a person to move towards a permanent Partner visa. It can be considered as the first initiative of getting permanent partner visa. It gives the opportunity to travel to and from Australia. It also gives permission to work in Australia.
On the other hand, Permanent partner visa will allow spouse or De facto partner of an Australian citizen, Australian perpetual inhabitant or qualified New Zealand resident lives in Australia permanently. You must have a temporary partner visa at the time of application for this permanent partner visa. Generally, it takes two years of time to get the permanent visa from when you lodge your application to permanent partner visa. In some cases, you may get this visa without waiting two years.
The one case is if you have been in a relationship with your partner for five years or more. This is applicable for both marriage or De facto relationship. Another case is if you have been in a relationship for two years and have children, then it may not take these two years of processing time.
I think that from the above discussions, you may have already understood the basic of partner visa and who are those people who need to get this visa.
